To conduct this annual research to examine the overall financial performance of self-managed super funds (SMSFs) compared to APRA-regulated funds, the SMSF Association has once again engaged the University of Adelaide.
Research findings showed SMSFs outperformed APRA funds over the 5-year period*.
The 5-year geometric mean rate of return (ROR) for SMSFs is 1.2 percentage points higher than the equivalent rate of return (ROR) for APRA-regulated funds.
*Five-year annualised rates of return for SMSFs and APRA funds based on geometric means.
